Berlin: Life-sized animal puppets, part of an international art project called “The Herds,” are marching from the DR Congo to the Arctic to confront the public with the human and ecological cost of the climate crisis.
According to Deutsche Welle, “The Herds” art project serves as a warning of the consequences of the climate crisis. Puppet masters animate life-like animals made of cardboard and plywood, parading through the streets of major European cities. The project features twenty species of animal puppets designed in South Africa, including gorillas, giraffes, and lions. This unique initiative underscores the threat to global biodiversity and the challenges arising from migration forced by the climate crisis, as reported by Euromaxx reporter Charlotte Chelsom-Pill.
