Ethiopia's Finance Minister Ahmed Shide held a discussion with UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) Executive Secretary Claver Gatete on the upcoming preparatory meeting for the 4th Conference on Financing for Development. The conference is scheduled to take place from July 22-26, 2024, in Addis Ababa, according to Ministry of Finance. The conference will focus on reinforcing Africa's collective interests, with a significant emphasis on advancing the Horn of Africa Initiative among other critical issues of mutual concern. According to the ministry, Ethiopia will also be preparing the first and historic African Urban Forum (AUF) from 4th to 6th September 2024, under the theme "Sustainable Urbanization for Africa's Transformation - Agenda 2063.'
