FM Taye, US Special Envoy Discuss Peace and Security Issues in Horn of Africa

Addis Ababa: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia Ambassador Taye Atske-Selassie received Ambassador Mike Hammer, US Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa. The two sides discussed peace and security issues in the Horn of Africa. Minister Taye stressed Ethiopia's concerns about the post-ATMIS arrangement, and Ethiopia's continued efforts to de-escalate tension in the region. They also discussed the current situation in the Tigray region. Ambassador Taye expressed Ethiopia's commitment to the full implementation of the Pretoria Peace Agreement. Ambassador Taye further called for the restoration of Ethiopia's status in the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA). Source: Ethiopian News Agency
