Ouagadougou: The President of Mali’s National Transitional Council (NTC), General Malick Diaw, was received in Ouagadougou by the President of Burkina Faso’s Transitional Legislative Assembly, Dr. Ousmane Bougouma, for a significant parliamentary meeting of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting, attended by the president of the Transitional Legislative Assembly of Burkina Faso, the Consultative Council for the Refoundation of Niger, and General Diaw, focused on preliminary drafts of additional protocols for the internal governance of the confederal sections of the AES parliaments. General Diaw commended the leadership of Burkina Faso’s President, Captain Ibrahim Traore, for facilitating the meeting and thanked the Transitional Presidents of Niger and Mali, General Abdourahamane Tiani and General Assimi Goita, for their dedication to the AES integration process.
The two-day meeting aims to build on discussions from last August to further integrate parliamentary functions within the AES. General Diaw expressed gratitude to Dr. Ousmane Bougouma for the warm reception and for supporting this stage of the institutional refoundation process within the AES region.
