Bamenda: A young man has reportedly been shot dead by security forces in the Nkeung neighborhood of Bamenda III subdivision. The incident occurred early Monday, January 13, 2025. He was said to be in possession of a firearm. According to local residents, the man, originally from Nkambe, had only spent a week in the area after moving from nearby Ntamuch© but had been under the radar of security forces until when gunshots were heard around 7 a.m.
According to Cameroon News Agency, the security forces involved in the incident are said to have also taken a female companion and other young men who were in the house at the time of the shooting.
Cases of harassment against the residents of Mile Four, Nkor Junction, Namoh, Ntamuch©, and Nkeung, have recently been reported especially during the early in the evening and in the night.
